Scullery conversion. Weeks Seventeen and Eighteen

All very pretty, but not helpful for building! At last the makings of a roof and the weather held at bay for work to continue in relative dry!

It's heavy but the lads are strong!

Scullery Conversion. Weeks Fifteen and Sixteen

Snow......just what we need!

Terry and Matt adorned with hats
Make a start on the roof
I hope it’s weatherproof.
Gable as in gable end, not Clark
Purlin a beam, not purling a jumper
Strutting supports for securing the beams
Collars and chords just like a tie
Rafters, the spars from eaves to ridge
With  birdsmouth joints
Fitting over the plates.
Battens as in batten down the hatches,
Truss a bolster overhead, not down the bed.
Barge boards, nothing to do with a narrow boat;
Fascia boards and gutters
Flashing, not our roofers.
Plates....not for cakes.
Tiles in rows, plus Chimney and pot
Not that sort you clot!
